Frequently Asked Questions

Quick, reliable answers to common questions about working with ArthaVan, investments, tax and estate planning.

Working with ArthaVan

Who do you work with?

Individuals and HNIs, UHNIs, families and family offices, entrepreneurs, NRIs and corporates, across India and abroad.

What happens in the first meeting?

We listen. We will ask about your goals, family, business and current holdings, and explain how we work. There is no obligation.

Do I need to be in Rajkot or Ahmedabad?

No. We meet in person at our Rajkot and Ahmedabad offices, and work with clients elsewhere through video calls and digital documentation.

How do you earn?

Depending on the service, through professional fees and/or distribution commissions from product providers. We disclose this clearly before you invest.

How is my information kept confidential?

Access is restricted to the team members serving you, and data is handled in line with our privacy policy.

Investments

What is the difference between PMS, AIF and SIF?

All three are for experienced investors. PMS is a portfolio held in your own name (minimum ₹50 lakh); AIFs are pooled private funds (generally ₹1 crore); SIFs are a newer mutual-fund-house offering with more flexible strategies (₹10 lakh).

Can you review my existing portfolio?

Yes. Most relationships begin with a portfolio review.

Do you guarantee returns?

No. All market-linked investments carry risk, and no one can guarantee returns. Our role is to help you take the right risks, for the right reasons, at the right cost.

Tax & estate

Is a nomination the same as a will?

No. A nominee usually holds assets for the legal heirs; the will determines who inherits.

Should my family form an HUF?

It can provide a separate tax entity, but also brings long-term obligations. We assess it against your family's situation.

Is tax planning the same as tax saving products?

No. Products are only one tool. Real tax planning considers structure, timing and the post-tax result of every major decision.

NRIs

Can we meet without travelling to India?

Yes. Most NRI relationships are managed through video calls and digital documentation.

Can I invest in Indian mutual funds while living in the US or Canada?

Some fund houses accept investments from US and Canadian residents, subject to additional documentation. We help identify eligible options.
